Free GTIN and URI tool

GTIN Check Digit & GS1 Digital Link URI Builder

Check GTIN-8, GTIN-12, GTIN-13, and GTIN-14 check digits and build the supported GS1 Digital Link URI subset. A correct digit does not prove GS1 assignment or product identity; GTIN-14 is not a consumer-unit identifier for retail POS.

The tool validates only the host shape; it does not configure a resolver or redirect.

How the GTIN Modulo-10 check digit works

GTIN-8, GTIN-12, GTIN-13, and GTIN-14 contain a final Modulo-10 check digit. This tool checks that arithmetic only; it does not verify that GS1 issued the number or that it identifies the entered product.

1. Apply weights (3 and 1)

From right to left, excluding the check digit, multiply alternating digits by 3 and 1.

2. Calculate the sum

Add all weighted values to produce the total.

3. Complete the next multiple of ten

The check digit is the value needed to reach the next multiple of ten.
